They aren't. I love that simple, fast, lean interface.

Learned it once, done, works when I need it.

They'd make me miserable if they ever abandoned it. I love their functional, predictable, useful, uncomplicated design. It does exactly what it needs to and nothing more. I never feel like anyone is trying to coerce me into their way of looking at the world; it's just a classified-ads database.

No matter what they do, they're going to make someone miserable.

As it stands, they've chosen to make the people who don't use the site miserable.

I'm not sure why you'd expect them to make the people who do use it miserable.
