Mostly because HN is full of two kinds of things: tech bros that think that "everything shouldn't be political durr" and actual literal fascists that think that palantir is a good thing.
I'm not fully surprised by it. Pissing in their cornflakes and reminding everyone what they are is what matters, not points.
It's disappointing more than anything, I never agreed with him on everything but he was at least somewhat interesting/relevant to listen to at the peak of the RoR days and mostly harmless.
