I use dtach because detaching from the terminal is the only feature I would use in tmux.

That was one argument I saw on an article, dvtm carries a simpler self-sufficient task and is far smaller than tmux. Separation of concerns etc.

I'm using dvtm, after trying screen and tmux in the past. No particular reason other than it's Xmonad-like layout switching.

It's crashed once, in a few months of usage. Make of that what you will.

Hmm, make that twice. Maybe I'll go back to tmux ;)

Have a look at abduco as well. It's a (IMHO) more user-friendly (and supposedly cleaner) dtach replacement, from the author of dvtm.
