I'm not getting how this is a hack and any different to just using LI's targeted ads as they are intended. Last time I checked the minimum was 1000 people.

yep. They recently changed it to 1000. At the time, I found out that for whatever reason the minimum number was 7.

I'm pretty sure LinkedIn ads weren't intended to have a picture of the guy's face who you're targeting as the ad though!
